Bingo in Oklahoma
Oklahoma has for a long time been synonymous with Bingo. This is because the Amerindian tribes of Oklahoma have provided Bingo sessions for many years. Patrons from many of the surrounding states get in cars and head over to Oklahoma to play Bingo over the weekends.
The 1988 (IGRA) Indian Gaming Regulatory Act followed a benchmark ruling by The U.S. Supreme Court the year prior. Since that time, twenty three of the thirty nine Amerindian tribes of Oklahoma have established gambling halls. The Chickasaw were the 1st Oklahoma American Indian band to take advantage of the betting rules, and today control ten gambling dens of their own. Bingo is the game on which these gambling dens were founded. computerized games like slot machine games weren’t allowed, owing to the fact that they are believed to lead to gambling addiction at a higher rate than bingo.
In recent years, Oklahoma law has altered to permit massive American Indian wagering casinos. You’ll now see American Indian gambling halls with slot machines, video poker and 21 tables. Craps and roulette are not authorized in the Amerindian casinos yet, but this is only a matter of time. Nobody can authority what having different gambling den games in the bingo houses will do for the draw of bingo.
