Bingo in Oklahoma

Oklahoma has for a long time been interrelated with Bingo. This is because the Native bands of Oklahoma have provided Bingo sessions for years. Guests from all of the neighboring states load up in cars and travel to Oklahoma to gamble on Bingo for the weekends.

The 1988 (IGRA) Indian Gaming Regulatory Act followed a precedent setting decree by The U.S. Supreme Court just the prior year. From that instance, 23 of the thirty nine Indian tribes located in Oklahoma have established gaming halls. The Chickasaw were the 1st Oklahoma Amerindian tribes to take advantage of the wagering rules, and today run ten gambling halls of their own. Bingo is the game on which the above-mentioned gambling dens were built on. automated games like slot machine games were not authorized, on the grounds that they are thought to contribute to gambling addiction more than bingo.

In the past few years, Oklahoma law have altered to allow for large American Indian wagering casinos. You will now discover Native gambling halls with slot machines, video poker and chemin de fer tables. Craps and roulette are still not approved in the Native gambling halls yet, but that is just a matter of time. No one can say with whether having different gambling den games in the bingo houses will do for the draw of bingo.
